Network engineer - PostEx

Our client, PostEx, is seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join their team in Lahore. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting daily network operations, providing Level 1 and Level 2 IT support, maintaining the networking infrastructure, and assisting with the installation and troubleshooting of CCTV systems. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage technical issues efficiently and ensure smooth network performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot MikroTik routers to maintain optimal network performance.
- Provide daily L1 and L2 technical support to users and IT operations teams, addressing and resolving issues promptly.
- Manage IT-related emails, support tickets, and follow-ups to ensure timely resolution of problems.
- Ensure strict compliance with IT Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and operational guidelines.
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues across LAN, WAN, and MAN networks to maintain uninterrupted service.
- Configure and troubleshoot Cisco networking devices, with a particular focus on switches.
- Support network protocols and infrastructure troubleshooting to enhance network reliability.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot NVR/DVR-based CCTV systems and IP cameras to support security operations.
- Coordinate with relevant teams and stakeholders to ensure technical issues are resolved efficiently and within expected timelines.

Required Qualifications

- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in networking and IT support roles.
- Hands-on experience working with MikroTik routers.
- Practical knowledge of Cisco switches and fundamental networking concepts.
- Solid understanding of LAN, WAN, MAN networks, network layers, and protocols.
- Experience with CCTV camera systems, including NVRs and DVRs.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities combined with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, especially during night shifts, demonstrating reliability and self-motivation.
