Human Capital HR Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a client in the Ports and Terminal Operations sector for the position of Network & IT Infrastructure Engineer. This full-time role is based in Keamari, Karachi, requiring the candidate to work on-site with rotational shifts. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 6 years of experience in network administration, IT infrastructure, or network security, and will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and security of the enterprise network within a dynamic logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot the enterprise network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Configure and manage Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, as well as LAN, WAN, and WLAN environments. Monitor network performance, availability, and security continuously to identify and resolve issues proactively.

Troubleshoot complex network and connectivity problems to maximize uptime. Support Security Operations Center (SOC) activities, including cybersecurity monitoring and incident response. Manage and maintain security solutions such as Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), and Identity and Access Management (IAM).

Assist with business continuity and disaster recovery planning, including testing procedures. Identify opportunities to enhance network performance, security, and reliability. Provide technical support and mentorship to junior IT team members. Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies, information security standards, and health, safety, and environment (HSE) regulations.

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related discipline is essential. Candidates should have 5 to 6 years of relevant experience in network administration, IT infrastructure, or network security roles. Strong hands-on expertise with Cisco networking technologies is required.

A solid understanding of routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless network technologies is necessary. Experience with network monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization is expected. Familiarity with SOC operations, incident response, and disaster recovery processes is important.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are required, along with proficiency in spoken and written English. Candidates must be willing to work in rotational shifts as part of the job requirements.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Experience with security tools such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), IDS/IPS, DLP, EDR, and IAM solutions is preferred. Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and the ability to support SOC operations will be considered an advantage.
