Network Security Engineer

We are seeking a Monitoring Solution Specialist with expertise in Dynatrace, AppDynamics, SolarWinds, Datadog, or Splunk to join a leading IT solutions provider in Islamabad. This role involves deploying, configuring, and managing advanced monitoring tools to ensure the performance, availability, and reliability of applications, infrastructure, and networks across on-premises and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will work onsite, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance monitoring strategies, automate workflows, and provide actionable insights that support business-critical operations.

Key Responsibilities

Monitoring Solution Deployment and Configuration:
Design, implement, and configure monitoring solutions such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Datadog, Splunk, and SolarWinds for comprehensive application, infrastructure, and network monitoring. Set up monitoring agents, data collection, and alerting mechanisms for critical IT assets across on-premises and cloud platforms. Integrate these monitoring systems with existing IT operations tools, including ITSM and incident management systems, to automate alerts and incident responses.

System and Application Monitoring:
Develop and maintain monitoring strategies covering all IT system layers, including applications, hardware, operating systems, databases, and networks. Capture essential metrics like system uptime, performance, transaction latency, resource utilization, and error rates. Monitor environments spanning on-premises infrastructure, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes to ensure optimal performance.

Alerting and Incident Management:
Create alerting systems based on defined thresholds and KPIs to promptly notify stakeholders of potential issues. Investigate and resolve monitoring-related incidents to minimize downtime and performance degradation. Collaborate closely with operations, development, and support teams to troubleshoot problems and enhance monitoring effectiveness.

Data Analytics and Reporting:
Analyze monitoring data to identify trends, patterns, and risks affecting system availability and performance. Develop customized dashboards and reports to visualize system health and incident trends. Provide actionable insights that drive improvements in system reliability and resource optimization.

Continuous Improvement and Automation:
Regularly assess and enhance monitoring coverage to include new systems, applications, and technologies. Automate monitoring workflows such as alert escalation, ticket creation, and issue resolution. Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging tools, and technologies to continuously improve monitoring capabilities.

Collaboration and Cross-Functional Support:
Work closely with infrastructure, DevOps, and security teams to ensure comprehensive visibility across the IT ecosystem. Provide training and support to internal teams on interpreting monitoring data and responding to alerts. Serve as a subject matter expert for monitoring tools, offering guidance on configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting.

Documentation and Knowledge Management:
Maintain detailed documentation of monitoring configurations, workflows, and processes for reference and training purposes. Develop and update a knowledge base of common issues, alerts, and resolutions to streamline incident management.

Required Qualifications

- Proven experience deploying, configuring, and managing monitoring solutions such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Datadog, Splunk, or SolarWinds.
- Hands-on experience monitoring applications, systems, cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), and containerized services (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with automated monitoring and incident response workflows, including integration with ITSM or ticketing systems.
- Strong understanding of application and infrastructure monitoring, covering networks, servers, and storage systems.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Excellent communication skills.
- 1-2 years of relevant professional experience.

Location: Islamabad, Pakistan
Working Days: Monday to Friday
Shift Timings: Rotational shifts including morning (9:00 AM to 5:30 PM), evening, and night shifts.
