Responsibilities:

  • Researching businesses, individuals and industry trends to identify potential new clients and markets and ways to serve existing clients better
  • Contacting potential new clients using phone and email to gauge interest and plan meetings
  • Meeting new and existing clients in person
  • Negotiating business terms with new and existing clients using phone, email and in-person meetings
  • Setting sales goals and ensuring sales team meets them
  • Working with senior team members to manage risks
  • Training and mentoring sales team members
  • Attending networking opportunities including conferences and industry events
  • Manage vendor relationships and identify new vendors.
  • Develop and implement purchasing programs for our customers.
  • Prepare and maintain purchase orders, invoices, and purchase order reports.
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships.
  • Liase with exporters and order products
  • Provide new designs to vendors for order
  • Recruiting and training staff
  • Setting staff targets, motivating them and reviewing their progress
  • Maintaining detailed and accurate sales and profit data
  • Liaise with accountants and provide required data
  • Dealing with customer complaints and feedback
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation including health and safety standards
  • Other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently as well. Excellent business development skills and experience of purchasing from South Asia (Pakistan, India) and dealing with vendors. A strong attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure, and the ability to follow through on assignments as assigned by management or supervisor. A minimum of a 2-year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required, or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if obtained within 2 years of hire. Degree in business administration or accounting preferred but not required; business experience is preferred but not required; knowledge of Microsoft Excel is preferred but not required; knowledge of QuickBooks is preferred but not required; ability to use critical thinking skills; problem-solving skills; ability to work autonomously; strong organization skills; strong written communication skills; ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; ability to write clearly; ability to meet deadlines; ability to prioritize workload effectively; flexibility; willingness to work overtime when necessary as assigned by management or supervisor.

Salary: £26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
