The TVET / Skills Specialist is responsible for overseeing all aspects of skills development projects and ensuring that training interventions align with current job market demands. This position plays a crucial role in conducting training needs analysis, developing competency-based curricula, and carrying out rigorous competency assessments. The specialist will also implement robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track the effectiveness of training programs and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement. Strong stakeholder engagement skills are essential to foster partnerships among educational institutions, government bodies, and the private sector, driving workforce development efforts that contribute to economic growth and employment opportunities.
Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of competency-based curricula tailored to vocational training and workforce development needs.
  • Conduct comprehensive training needs analyses and job market research to align training programs with labor market demands.
  • Manage and supervise a team of three professionals to deliver high-quality TVET initiatives and capacity-building projects.
  • Develop and implement robust competency assessment frameworks that accurately measure trainee skills and readiness for employment.
  • Engage with stakeholders including employers, government agencies, and educational institutions to ensure relevance and sustainability of training programs.
  • Coordinate employability programs and capacity-building initiatives that improve workforce skills and support economic development.
  • Establish and maintain monitoring and evaluation systems to assess program effectiveness, provide regular reports, and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Advise on policy development related to Technical and Vocational Education and Training and workforce development.
  • Provide expert guidance on best practices in vocational training and skills development, incorporating international standards.
  • Facilitate workshops, seminars, and training sessions to build the capacity of trainers, assessors, and education providers.
