The successful candidate does not manage a team but works closely with other departments to ensure consistent application of accounting principles and adherence to industry standards. This position involves working with various accounting software and requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining compliance with all relevant financial regulations. The Accountant contributes to financial planning by preparing reports and analyses that inform decision making at Nextgen Agrico.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports according to regulatory standards and company policies.
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and reconciliations.
- Coordinate tax preparation and compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential issues.
- Maintain compliance with financial regulations and internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing necessary schedules and reconciliations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial information and assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Assist in audits by providing required documentation and explanations to auditors.
- Continuously update knowledge of accounting standards and regulations to ensure compliance.
