Billing Manager – US Medical Insurance Claims
Seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Billing Manager position. Ideal candidate must have experience with US medical insurance billing. He/she will be responsible for overseeing the entire billing/claim entry process and the team members that work them- including managing the claims entry processes, appeals and workflows etc.
Candidate should have a strong background in overseeing day-to-day operations of a billing organization (production, billing, follow-up, collections, cash receipts/adjustments etc). It is ideal for someone who is organized, a great communicator, and a team player who also excels at leading others within a billing department.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Overseethe day-to-day operation of a medical billing department including management of the team members assigned to client accounts
- Work on and manage insurance receivables to resolve outstanding or denied claims.
- Identify and submit insurance appeals.
- Meet or communicate on a regular basis with team members and management.
- Create monthly patient, insurance and payment reports and identify trends/issues
- Communicate with the team on any needs, concerns, common denials, coding corrections, etc.
- Mentor team, monitor their performance and report on metrics.
- Supervise, train and motivate employees.
- Exhibits excellent leadership and self-direction, good judgment in handling difficult situations and good organizational, time management, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
Minimum qualifications:
- At least 5 years of previous experience with US medical billing.
- Knowledge of medical terminology: ICD-10, and CPT codes, as well as deductibles, co-insurances and co-pays, ability to interpret an EOB.
- Strong attention to detail; ability to organize work and perform duties with a high level of accuracy.
- Basic computer skills: Microsoft Office, Data entry and Microsoft Excel, and medical management software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to read, write, and interpret.
