The Chief Surveyor plays a pivotal role in overseeing all surveying operations across multiple large-scale civil engineering projects. This leadership role involves direct supervision of survey teams and the application of advanced surveying technologies such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and various surveying software tools. The specialist is responsible for comprehensive project planning and scheduling to ensure that surveying activities align with construction milestones and quality standards. Working on-site in challenging environments, the Chief Surveyor must ensure data integrity, efficient resource allocation, and compliance with engineering specifications to contribute to the overall success of NPI Construction & Engineerings infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a survey team consisting of 20 professionals to execute surveying tasks effectively across multiple civil and infrastructure projects.
  • Conduct and supervise detailed survey operations including setting out, leveling, alignment, coordinates, earthwork measurements, and construction surveying following approved engineering drawings.
  • Utilize and maintain advanced surveying equipment and technology such as Total Station, GPS/GNSS devices, Auto Level and associated software including AutoCAD Civil 3D and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
  • Perform rigorous checks and validation of survey data to ensure its accuracy, reliability, and compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to integrate surveying outputs into the project workflow efficiently.
  • Plan and schedule surveying activities aligning with project timelines and construction phases to optimize resource usage and minimize potential delays.
  • Implement best practices in construction surveying techniques to support the successful execution of dams, water supply schemes, irrigation networks, roads, and other infrastructure developments.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to team members to enhance their competencies in surveying methodologies and equipment operation.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and reporting for surveying activities, ensuring traceability and compliance for audit and quality control purposes.
  • Adapt and respond to changing project requirements and site conditions, maintaining safety and quality standards throughout all survey operations.
  • Work on-site in Ziarat, Balochistan, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to project needs and environmental conditions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the surveying department to increase accuracy, efficiency, and overall quality of surveying services provided.
