Nurse Educator-EMR Trainer

We are currently seeking a Nurse Educator specializing in EMR Training and Daycare Audit to join our Health Informatics and nursing team. The ideal candidate will be a practicing nurse or Lady Health Visitor (LHV) with a strong comfort level using technology and a passion for teaching. This role serves as a vital link between nursing staff and the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, focusing on training, on-floor support, and auditing to ensure accurate and safe patient records.

Key Responsibilities

EMR Training & User Support:
- Conduct induction training on EMR usage for newly hired nurses, LHVs, triage staff, and daycare assistants prior to their system use.
- Deliver ongoing refresher sessions covering nursing EMR screens such as Vital Signs, Nursing Notes, Material Consumption Requisition, Issue & Dispense, Returns, Transaction Reversals, and Investigation Orders.
- Provide on-floor support at clinic centers by resolving basic user issues like login problems, navigation, and correct patient record selection, escalating technical issues to the Health Informatics team as needed.
- Develop simple training materials in Urdu and English, including quick guides, checklists, and demonstrations, while maintaining attendance and competency records.
- Train staff on new EMR features and process updates in collaboration with the Health Informatics team.

Audit of Daycare Medicines & EMR Entries:
- Regularly audit daycare medicine entries to verify that issued medicines match physician orders and are properly recorded as consumed or returned against the correct patient MR number.
- Review transaction reversals, corrections, and recurring errors to identify root causes and provide retraining where necessary.
- Use EMR inventory reports to reconcile daycare stock with physical inventory, reporting discrepancies, short-expiry, or missing items.
- Audit the completeness and accuracy of vital signs and nursing documentation within the EMR.
- Conduct nursing competency and documentation audits using the ZMT nursing audit checklist, including adherence to the 5 Rights of medication administration.
- Prepare monthly training and audit reports detailing findings, corrective actions, and follow-up, sharing these with the Nursing Supervisor and Manager Health Informatics.

Clinical Practice:
- Provide direct daycare nursing support as needed, including vital signs monitoring, administration of injectable and IV medications, and wound dressings to maintain clinical skills and model best practices.
- Demonstrate infection prevention, patient safety, patient identification, and confidentiality protocols.
- Perform additional duties to support clinic, daycare, and EMR operations as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education:
- LHV Diploma or Nursing Diploma with valid registration from the Pakistan Nursing & Midwifery Council (PNMC).

Experience:
- 2 to 4 years of clinical experience in primary care, outpatient departments, or daycare settings.
- Experience as an EMR or HMIS user, super user, or trainer is highly preferred.

Age Limit:
- Up to 35 years.

Key Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of basic nursing procedures, medication administration, and medication safety principles (5 Rights).
- Ability to teach adults patiently and communicate processes clearly in both Urdu and English.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify errors in records.
- Confidence to provide respectful and professional corrective feedback.
- High integrity, honesty, and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Effective planning and time management skills to coordinate activities across multiple clinic centers.

Technology Skills:
- Proficient with computers, smartphones, and tablets, and quick to learn new software.
- Hands-on experience with EMR/HMIS systems, including patient record searches, data entry, and basic troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel (sorting, filtering, basic formulas), MS Word, and PowerPoint for audit tracking and training material preparation.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and online forms for communication, training, and reporting.
- Basic understanding of data privacy, password security, and safe handling of patient information.

Other Requirements:
- Willingness to travel between ZMT clinic centers across Karachi for training and audits.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Starting from Rs33,000 per month
Location: In-person at Karachi clinic centers
Commute/Relocation: Candidates should reliably commute or plan to relocate to Karachi before starting work.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience are advantageous.
