The University Main Office (UMO) is seeking a dedicated nursing professional to join the NUST Medical Centre. The ideal candidate will be between 20 and 45 years of age and possess essential nursing experience of at least two years, with a preference for those having three years of relevant experience. This role involves supporting medical and nursing staff in delivering quality patient care, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring patient comfort and safety within a dynamic healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities
Assist in patient handling, shifting, and preparing patients for medical examinations alongside Medical Officers and nursing staff. Prepare prescription chits, maintain sick report registers, and monitor patients’ vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure. Administer intravenous drips, injections, and other prescribed medications to patients admitted at the medical centre. Perform wound dressing and ensure the replenishment of dressing materials from the dispensary. Accompany seriously ill patients to hospitals when required. Carry out general nursing duties during shifts, including weekends and holidays, and provide medical cover as needed. Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Officer In Charge (OIC) of the NUST Medical Centre.

Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Class One Diploma in General Nursing from the Punjab Medical Faculty Board or the Army Medical Corps Centre. A minimum of two years’ experience in nursing is essential. Candidates should demonstrate basic knowledge of nursing care, patient hygiene, comfort, and safety procedures. Proficiency in assisting with routine patient care and daily nursing activities is required. The ability to monitor vital signs, maintain accurate patient records, and respond appropriately to emergency situations is critical. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to interact effectively with patients, attendants, and healthcare staff. Candidates must also maintain confidentiality, discipline, and professional conduct at all times.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills
Post Basic Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or any relevant advanced nursing qualification, will be considered advantageous. Knowledge of basic first aid, CPR, and Basic Life Support (BLS) is desirable. Practical experience in hospitals, clinics, medical centres, or healthcare facilities is preferred. The ability to work in shifts and perform well under pressure is important for this role.

Candidates are required to submit scanned copies of all academic and professional documents. The last educational certificate or degree must be attested or verified by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). Applicants with a weak academic profile, including those with a third division in their academic career, or those currently pursuing the required degree, will not be considered. NUST employees with less than one year of service or without a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their Head of Institution are also ineligible. Candidates serving in government departments or armed forces must apply through their respective parent organizations.

Late or incomplete applications will not be entertained. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for tests or interviews, and no travel allowance or daily allowance will be provided. The University reserves the right to cancel, modify, or terminate the recruitment process at any time without prior notice.
