This role involves overseeing nursing care delivery within assigned units to ensure high-quality patient care. The incumbent will coordinate staff assignments based on patient needs and available resources, monitor the timely execution of physician orders including medication administration, procedures, and diagnostic tests, and conduct daily patient visits to assess conditions and nursing care effectiveness. The position requires maintaining clear communication with nursing management regarding patient care issues, fostering a positive work environment, motivating staff for quality nursing care, and ensuring discipline within the team. Additionally, the role includes facilitating the implementation and effective use of the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system among team members. The individual will also undertake other responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Nursing, Controller Nursing Administration, or the Medical Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assign patients to nursing staff according to patient care requirements and staffing availability.
- Ensure nursing staff carry out all required care promptly as per physician’s orders, including medication, procedures, and diagnostic tests.
- Conduct daily visits to patients in assigned units to review their condition, assess nursing care quality, and gather feedback to address any issues.
- Update Nursing Management regularly on nursing and patient care concerns within the assigned units.
- Promote a positive working relationship with staff and motivate them to deliver quality nursing care.
- Maintain staff discipline within the assigned units.
- Facilitate the implementation and effective utilization of the EMR system by self and team members.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Nursing, Controller Nursing Administration, or Medical Director.
Required Qualifications:
- Post RN BScN or B.Sc. in General Nursing with a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting, preferably as a Senior Nurse or Head Nurse.
- Registration with the Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC) is mandatory.
- Demonstrated supervisory skills to lead and guide nursing teams effectively.
- Proficiency in English and Urdu communication.
- Competent in the use of MS Office applications.
- Willingness to work in shifts covering 24 hours with periodic rotation.
Preferred Qualifications and Certifications:
- Specialization in ICU or Emergency Room nursing.
- Additional diploma in Health Management.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation.
