This position involves supporting the delivery of essential nutrition interventions aimed at improving maternal, infant, and young child health within the community. The role requires active engagement in screening, counseling, supplementation distribution, and community outreach activities. The successful candidate will work closely with community volunteers and health workers to promote good nutrition practices, ensure accurate documentation, and maintain high-quality service delivery in accordance with established protocols.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in implementing nutrition interventions such as MUAC screening, growth monitoring, infant and young child feeding (IYCF) counseling, and distribution of nutritional supplements.
- Support the setup and management of nutrition corners, community sessions, and mobile outreach initiatives to reach vulnerable populations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of beneficiaries, including registers, attendance sheets, and other relevant records.
- Conduct household visits and community awareness sessions to promote nutrition education and mobilize community participation.
- Deliver key messages related to maternal, infant, and young child nutrition (MIYCN/IYCF) to beneficiaries and community members.
- Collaborate with community volunteers and health workers to coordinate nutrition activities and ensure smooth implementation.
- Prepare weekly and monthly activity reports, sharing field observations and challenges with supervisors to facilitate timely interventions.
- Adhere strictly to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality protocols to maintain the integrity of nutrition services.
- Follow infection prevention and control measures consistently during all field activities.
- Manage and report the usage of supplies such as MUAC tapes, supplements, and educational materials responsibly and safely.

Required Qualifications

- Experience in community nutrition programs or related public health initiatives.
- Familiarity with nutrition screening tools and counseling techniques, particularly MUAC and IYCF practices.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain detailed and accurate records.
- Effective communication skills for community engagement and health education.
- Ability to work collaboratively with community volunteers, health workers, and supervisors.
- Commitment to following SOPs, quality standards, and infection control measures.
- Willingness to conduct field visits and work in diverse community settings.
