Accounts Officer

O F Logistix is seeking a meticulous and responsible Accounts Officer to join its Finance & Accounts team, specializing in the road transport and logistics industry. This role requires maintaining accurate accounting records, processing a variety of financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and supporting daily finance operations. The ideal candidate is a graduate with at least two years of relevant experience, proficient in accounting principles, MS Excel, and accounting software, and exhibits strong analytical, numerical, and communication skills. The Accounts Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring financial accuracy and supporting the smooth operation of finance functions within the company. Working closely with other departments such as operations, the individual will handle invoice preparation, account reconciliations, expense verification, report generation, and assist in audit and tax activities while maintaining compliance with established procedures. This position involves no team management but demands excellent coordination and multitasking capabilities.
Responsibilities

Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and supporting documentation in line with company and industry standards.
Record daily financial transactions including receipts, payments, invoices, expenses, and journal entries promptly and accurately.
Prepare and maintain customer and vendor ledgers ensuring all entries are correct and reconciled regularly.
Conduct bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, and reconcile accounts with customers and vendors to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Prepare invoices and follow up on outstanding receivables to promote timely payments and efficient cash flow management.
Verify bills, payment requests, expense claims, and supporting documents before processing to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Maintain detailed records of transportation and fleet-related expenses such as fuel and vehicle maintenance to support operational cost tracking.
Assist in managing accounts receivable and accounts payable processes ensuring timely settlements and accurate record keeping.
Generate routine financial and management reports to assist senior management in decision-making and financial planning.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities including account reconciliations, financial reporting, and documentation preparation.
Ensure proper organization and filing of all financial records and documents to facilitate audits and regulatory compliance.
Coordinate with operations and other departments to collect relevant financial data and resolve discrepancies in transactions.
Assist external and internal audits and tax filings by compiling necessary documentation and clarifying accounting records as requested.
Perform other finance and accounting duties as assigned by management, supporting continuous improvements in financial processes.
