This role involves managing various treasury functions with a focus on bank reconciliation, cash flow monitoring, and banking operations. The successful candidate will prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements, ensure timely resolution of discrepancies, and accurately record all bank-related transactions such as charges, profit, tax, and foreign exchange gains or losses. Daily monitoring of bank positions and coordination with banks for inward remittances and foreign vendor payments are also key aspects of this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements and ensure their timely completion.
- Follow up on and resolve reconciling items in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Record all bank-related transactions, including charges, profit, tax, and exchange gain or loss.
- Prepare and monitor daily bank position reports to maintain accurate cash flow visibility.
- Coordinate with banks to handle inward remittances and process foreign payments to vendors.
- Prepare fund transfer cheques and manage confirmations related to donations and payments as required.
- Compile monthly bank profit rate sheets and maintain proper records and controls over all banking activities.
- Ensure compliance with banking requirements, including updating signatories, online access, and documentation.
- Coordinate bank confirmations during external audits and verify any donations, grants, or reversals received in accounts.
- Record monthly foreign currency exchange gains or losses.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations, ensuring all treasury records are audit-ready and compliant.
- Liaise with banks and internal departments to facilitate smooth treasury operations.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Line Manager as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (4 years) or part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, or ICMA.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in treasury, banking operations, or financial accounting.
- Strong understanding of treasury operations, banking processes, and cash management principles.
- Knowledge of bank reconciliation, financial reporting, and accounting standards.
- Familiarity with banking compliance requirements and documentation procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and experience with accounting or ERP systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial data handling.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and coordination skills to work with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Understanding of foreign exchange, bank charges, and profit calculations is advantageous.
