This is a full-time on-site role for a UHT Technician located in Kabul. The UHT Technician will be responsible for ensuring the proper operation and maintenance of Ultra-High-Temperature processing equipment and production line machinery, conducting quality checks, and performing preventive maintenance. The UHT Technician will also work closely with the production team to identify and troubleshoot equipment issues, and make necessary adjustments to ensure peak performance.

Qualifications

Equipment Expertise: In-depth knowledge of UHT processing equipment and systems is essential. This includes a thorough understanding of the specific UHT models, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, control systems and associated components used in the industry.

Troubleshooting and Repair Skills: Strong troubleshooting skills to identify equipment malfunctions, analyze root causes and implement effective repair solutions. Proficiency in reading technical manuals, schematics and diagnostic tools for troubleshooting purposes.

Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance: Experience and knowledge of maintenance practices, including preventive maintenance techniques and procedures. Understanding maintenance schedules, lubrication, adjustment methods and inspection protocols to maximize equipment uptime and performance.

Electrical and Mechanical Skills: Proficiency in electrical and mechanical systems relevant to UHT machinery. This includes knowledge of electrical circuits, motor control systems, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical components.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills are necessary for accessing equipment manuals, recording maintenance data and using software tools for diagnostics and troubleshooting.

Communication and Teamwork: Effective communication skills to interact with team members, operators and supervisors. Collaborating with other technicians, engineers or production personnel to coordinate maintenance activities and provide technical support.

Safety Awareness: A strong commitment to safety, adhering to safety protocols and promoting a safety culture in the workplace.

Adaptability and Flexibility: Being able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with shifting priorities and demanding production schedules. Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends or on-call shifts.

Continuous Learning: Keeping up-to-date with advancements in UHT technology, equipment and maintenance practices through ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance tasks on UHT processing equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance. This includes inspecting, cleaning, lubricating and adjusting machinery components according to maintenance schedules.

Repairs and Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving equipment malfunctions, breakdowns or performance issues. This involves conducting root cause analysis, using diagnostic tools, replacing faulty parts and performing repairs to restore equipment functionality.

Calibration and Testing: Calibrating and testing UHT equipment to ensure accurate temperature control, pressure settings and flow rates. This includes verifying instrument accuracy, adjusting settings and conducting performance tests.

Preventive Maintenance: Developing and implementing preventive maintenance plans to minimize equipment downtime and maximize reliability. This includes creating maintenance schedules, identifying critical components for replacement and planning maintenance activities.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment logs and spare parts usage. Reporting any significant issues, equipment failures or recommendations for improvements to superiors or management.

Safety and Compliance: Adhering to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Following relevant health and safety guidelines, equipment safety procedures and maintaining knowledge of industry-specific safety standards.
