OneContact Tech is seeking a highly skilled Staff QA Automation Engineer with extensive experience in test automation to join our North American team. This role is designed for an expert who has moved well beyond basic testing practices and is ready to take ownership of the automation strategy across real products at scale. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with existing team members to strengthen automation frameworks, close coverage gaps, and leverage artificial intelligence responsibly to accelerate test development. The position requires hands-on experience with API and integration testing, mobile automation, and a deep understanding of reducing manual and end-to-end testing burdens through fast, reliable automation.
This role does not include direct team management but demands a collaborative and pragmatic approach to communication and knowledge sharing. The Staff QA Automation Engineer will work cross-functionally with quality assurance, engineering, and product teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the development lifecycle. The goal is to enhance the existing automation environment, ensuring scalable and maintainable test suites that support continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines. Experience with .NET microservices, C#, Playwright, Appium, and BrowserStack is essential, as is familiarity with AI-driven testing tools and best practices.
Responsibilities
Assess the current state of automation across various products, identify gaps, and implement practical improvements that reduce reliance on slow, costly manual and end-to-end testing.
Develop and maintain fast, reliable, and isolated API and integration tests for .NET/C# microservices, ensuring high coverage and stability.
Enhance and expand test automation frameworks by improving setup, architecture, and integration with continuous integration pipelines, including frameworks like Playwright.
Rapidly increase automated test coverage to decrease the regression load and migrate manual test scripts into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous test execution.
Support mobile automation efforts on Android and iOS platforms using Appium and BrowserStack, ensuring these suites are stable, maintainable, and scalable.
Utilize artificial intelligence tools thoughtfully to accelerate test development while validating AI-generated content to avoid ineffective tests.
Collaborate with QA, engineering, and product teams to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle and promote shared automation knowledge.
Participate in replacing fragile end-to-end test suites with more efficient service-level tests that enhance reliability and speed.
Contribute to efforts of mutation testing and other techniques to verify test effectiveness and improve overall test quality.
