Operations Manager

We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Operations Manager to oversee petrochemical manufacturing operations based in Lahore or Faisalabad. This full-time position requires a strong engineering background paired with exceptional leadership skills to effectively integrate production, supply chain, quality, and maintenance functions. The ideal candidate will drive operational excellence by aligning cross-functional teams, managing key performance indicators (KPIs), and fostering a culture focused on continuous improvement and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

Cross-Functional Integration: Work closely with supply chain, procurement, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to align daily production schedules with long-term business goals.

Performance & KPI Leadership: Develop, monitor, and implement operational KPIs such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), yield, on-time delivery, and cost-per-ton to ensure consistent improvements in plant performance.

Team Building & Talent Development: Lead and mentor shift leaders and plant staff by promoting cross-training, accountability, and a mindset of continuous improvement throughout the workforce.

Operational Strategy: Translate executive-level objectives into actionable workflows at the plant level, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks across departments to maximize efficiency.

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Process Engineering from a recognized university is required, with a preference for Chemical Engineering, particularly for candidates experienced in petrochemical or process manufacturing environments.

Candidates should have 8 to 12+ years of experience in manufacturing or plant operations, including 3 to 5 years in a managerial or leadership capacity.

A proven track record in petrochemicals, chemicals, fertilizers, polymers/plastics, oil & gas processing, refineries, or other continuous-process industries is essential.

Demonstrated expertise in production planning, plant performance management, maintenance coordination, quality control, and workforce leadership is necessary.

Experience managing multiple departments or cross-functional teams beyond production is expected.

Strong knowledge of continuous/process manufacturing operations and operational KPIs such as OEE, plant utilization, yield, production efficiency, downtime, cost per metric ton, rejection rates, and on-time delivery is required.

Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance, shutdown planning, root cause analysis, process optimization, and production planning is important.

Working knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and process safety standards is essential.

Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalents is required.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

An MBA or Master’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering Management, or Business Administration is highly advantageous but not mandatory.

Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), or other continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.

The role offers competitive compensation starting from Rs1.00 per month.

This position requires in-person attendance at the designated locations.

Candidates will be expected to provide detailed information regarding their years of experience in plant or manufacturing operations, industries served, key operational KPIs managed and improved, leadership roles across cross-functional teams (including Production, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, and HSE), and specific experience within petrochemicals or related continuous-process manufacturing sectors.
