The College of Ophthalmology and Allied Vision Sciences in Lahore is seeking a qualified Optometrist to join their team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Programme Manager and will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services. This role requires a professional with strong clinical skills, the ability to manage patient care independently, and excellent communication abilities. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed eye examinations including refraction, ophthalmoscopy, retinoscopy, slit-lamp examination, 90D lens examination, and cycloplegic refraction.
- Operate and maintain ophthalmic equipment efficiently while managing a clinic or outpatient department independently.
- Diagnose and manage non-refractive eye conditions, providing appropriate treatment or referrals.
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive reports and case studies.
- Counsel patients effectively, addressing their concerns and ensuring proper follow-up or referral when necessary.
- Maintain strong communication and interpersonal relationships with patients, project staff, in-charges, and senior management.
- Utilize Android smartphones and related applications for clinical and administrative tasks.
- Travel independently to other districts as required to support outreach or program activities.
- Adapt to six-monthly job rotations and extended working hours when necessary.
- Manage patient workload efficiently while maintaining professionalism and composure under pressure.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Optometry from an HEC-recognized institution.
- At least five years of relevant professional experience in a reputable clinic, healthcare facility, or hospital.
- Fluency in spoken English and proficiency in basic computer skills.
