The engineer is responsible for overseeing a team of 10 skilled technicians, guiding them in inspections, maintenance, and operational practices to uphold high industry standards. Successful candidates will contribute to the development and sustainability of Pakistan's first exclusive metro rail system, actively enhancing public transportation infrastructure in Lahore. A Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field and nearly a decade of experience in railway track maintenance or construction projects are essential for this role, as well as relevant certifications highlighting technical competencies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, design, and implementation of railway track systems, ensuring compliance with established engineering standards and safety regulations.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of existing track structures, identifying areas for maintenance or improvement, and preparing detailed reports.
  • Oversee daily track maintenance operations by coordinating maintenance schedules, allocating resources, and managing a team of 10 personnel.
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track maintenance activities, monitor asset performance, and report on service delivery.
  • Implement modern railway technology and design methodologies, incorporating slab track, embedded track, and ballasted track designs as necessary.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to define project scopes, budgets, and timelines for infrastructure improvements.
  • Ensure all maintenance and construction practices align with industry standards such as AREMA, UIC, and relevant Permanent Way Manuals.
  • Coordinate training sessions for track maintenance staff on the proper usage of rail welding, grinding, and ultrasonic testing techniques.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of railway safety protocols and regulations to uphold Personal Track Safety and other necessary certifications.
  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders to provide updates regarding project progress, track conditions, and maintenance needs.
