About the role:

Finance Officer will be responsible for managing the financial operations of Pak Mission Society. His/her primary role is to ensure that the financial resources are effectively utilized, financial records are accurate and up-to-date, and financial policies and procedures are followed.

About the Project:

The project aims to provide integrated services in health, nutrition, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), and livelihood to the flood-affected communities of Umerkot and Khairpur Sindh-Pakistan.

The project idea is designed within the framework of localization to restore mentioned services and strengthen local capacities, taking a holistic approach and considering the protracted nature of the crisis situation. The staff will be based in their respective districts to implement the project activities.

Your impactful goals will include:

Financial Management: He/she will be responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the effective and efficient use of financial resources.

Financial Reporting: He/She will prepare financial statements, reports,  and analyses to provide accurate and timely information to management, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.

Budgeting and Cost Control: He/she will participate in the budgeting  process, working closely with department heads and senior management to develop budgets, track expenditures, and control costs. He/she will monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and provide explanations and recommendations as necessary.

Cash Flow Management: He/she will manage the PMS's cash flow by monitoring cash inflows and outflows, ensuring adequate liquidity to meet financial obligations. This includes maintaining relationships with banks and financial institutions, managing cash balances, and optimizing cash management processes.

Financial Compliance: He/she will ensure compliance with financial regulations, laws, and internal policies. He/she will stay updated on accounting standards and best practices and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance. He/she may also liaise with auditors and assist in the preparation of audit reports.

Stakeholder Management: He/she will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, such as senior management, departments, banks, and auditors, to ensure effective financial operations and address any financial concerns or inquiries.

Systems and Processes: He/she will contribute to the development and enhancement of financial systems, processes, and tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and data integrity.

What we are looking for:

Education & Knowledge:

  1. Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or another relevant field.
  2. Professional Certifications such as CPA, CFA, and CMA.

Work Experience:

  1. 2 – 3 years of experience in a relevant field is required.
  2. Experience in INGO/NGO will be preferred.

Functional Competencies/Skills:

  1. Strong knowledge and experience in financial and accounting principles.
  2. Financial Reporting Skills.
  3. Proficiency in financial software and system. Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and proficiency in spreadsheet tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel) is often required.
  4. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  5. Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  6. Time Management & Organizational skills.
  7. Strong sense of integrity.
  8. Understanding of industry-specific financial regulations, trends, and challenges
