The ICCA School of Music at Eastern Kentucky University is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time faculty position to teach various music courses. These courses may include music appreciation, applied music, and ensembles, primarily at the undergraduate level. Part-time faculty members may teach up to nine credit hours per semester, depending on departmental needs. Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in Music or possess unique skills relevant to the teaching assignment. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis as openings arise. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable during the application process, but official transcripts are required upon offer and employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach assigned music courses at scheduled times and locations to meet the needs of EKU students. This responsibility accounts for 100% of the role and is essential to the position.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate or terminal degree in a relevant discipline, or a Master’s degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline.
- A minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline is required to be considered for teaching undergraduate courses.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- This is a part-time position with a workload of less than 20 hours per week and does not include benefits.
- The position is classified as exempt under FLSA guidelines.
- The role is based at the Richmond Campus and does not require driving responsibilities.
- Retirement benefits are not provided for this position.
