Partnership Advisor

The Partnership Advisor will play a pivotal role in providing strategic leadership to enhance AGAHE’s partnerships, resource mobilization, external engagement, and overall organizational positioning. This senior management position is responsible for developing and managing strategic relationships with government bodies, bilateral and multilateral donors, UN agencies, development partners, private sector entities, foundations, academia, and global platforms. The Advisor will drive efforts to unlock new collaboration and investment opportunities, expand the resource mobilization portfolio, and support consortium development and innovative financing initiatives. Additionally, the role focuses on strengthening AGAHE’s visibility, influence, and thought leadership while fostering strategic engagement with government and sector stakeholders to promote sustainable development approaches and evidence-based advocacy.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Partnerships and External Engagement: Lead the development and implementation of AGAHE’s strategic partnership framework to enhance organizational influence and sustainability. Establish and maintain high-value relationships across government, donors, UN agencies, private sector, foundations, academia, and global platforms. Identify and manage partnership opportunities aligned with sustainable development, climate resilience, humanitarian action, and systems strengthening. Oversee negotiation and management of MoUs, consortium agreements, and strategic alliances. Maintain a partnership pipeline through stakeholder mapping, engagement planning, and regular reporting to senior leadership.

Resource Mobilization and Organizational Growth: Lead resource mobilization efforts by identifying and securing funding from donors, foundations, CSR initiatives, climate finance mechanisms, and development banks. Conduct donor and market analysis to inform growth strategies and expand funding sources. Develop engagement strategies for priority donors and investors to build long-term relationships. Collaborate with technical teams to produce high-quality concept notes, proposals, donor pitches, and investment cases. Promote innovative financing approaches such as blended finance, co-investment, and public-private partnerships.

Government Engagement and Institutional Partnerships: Build strong working relationships with ministries, departments, local governments, and development partners. Identify opportunities for institutional collaboration and support integration of successful models into government planning and budgeting. Promote government ownership and sustainability through partnerships and facilitate strategic engagement with planning and development institutions. Support government-led coordination mechanisms at various administrative levels.

Knowledge Management, Strategic Communications, and Evidence: Lead the creation of knowledge products, partnership briefs, investment cases, and learning documents. Translate program evidence into compelling narratives for donors, policymakers, and investors. Support evidence generation and dissemination to demonstrate impact and scalability. Contribute to organizational learning and strategic positioning through evidence-based communications.

Representation, Visibility, and Thought Leadership: Represent AGAHE at national and international forums, conferences, and donor consultations. Identify opportunities to position AGAHE as a leader in systems strengthening, climate resilience, humanitarian response, and sustainable development. Promote organizational achievements, innovations, and lessons learned.

Required Qualifications

A Master’s degree in Development Studies, Public Policy, International Relations, Public Administration, Social Sciences, Environment & Climate Change, or a related field is essential. Additional professional certifications or training in partnership development, resource mobilization, public-private partnerships, business development, donor engagement, strategic communications, policy analysis, or systems strengthening are advantageous.

Candidates must have 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience in development, humanitarian, climate resilience, WASH, governance, or related sectors. Proven experience in securing institutional funding, developing strategic alliances, consortium building, and facilitating large-scale development partnerships is required. Experience engaging with corporate sector entities, CSR programs, foundations, or innovative financing mechanisms is a strong asset. A demonstrated track record of managing partnerships with governments, donors, UN agencies, INGOs, foundations, academia, and private sector actors is essential.
