The Pattern Master - GGT role is based at an apparel manufacturing unit and requires a skilled professional with 4 to 6 years of experience. The position involves generating and adjusting garment patterns to meet customer requirements and internal development needs. The candidate will work closely with research and development teams to create patterns for various sample types, including prototype, promotional, and size set samples. A strong understanding of fabric behavior, particularly shrinkage, is essential to ensure accurate pattern adjustments. The role demands precision in grading patterns across different sizes and a keen eye for fit and styling to ensure production feasibility. Meeting deadlines and maintaining detailed quality and progress reports are also critical aspects of this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Pattern Generation & Adjustment: Create new garment patterns and modify existing customer patterns as necessary to align with design and production requirements.
- Pattern Creation: Develop patterns derived from R&D collections and various sample categories such as prototype, promotional, and size set samples.
- Shrinkage Analysis: Evaluate shrinkage swatches to determine fabric shrinkage rates, utilizing historical data to inform pattern adjustments.
- Pattern Grading: Accurately grade full pattern sets from sample sizes to ensure proper fit across all size ranges.
- Fit & Styling: Ensure patterns conform to size charts and production capabilities, maintaining the intended fit and styling of the garment.
- Deadline Management & Reporting: Adhere to daily deadlines, maintain comprehensive records, and manage quality reports to support production and quality assurance processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Textile Engineering, Fashion Design, Apparel Technology, or equivalent.
- 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience in pattern making, grading, and garment fitting within the apparel industry.
- Proficiency in pattern making software and tools, along with a solid understanding of garment construction and fabric behavior.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret shrinkage data and apply it effectively in pattern adjustments.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage deadlines and maintain accurate documentation.
