Payment Risk Analyst

We are currently looking for a detail-oriented Payments Risk Analyst to join our Risk & Operations team within Constellation Payment Processing, a modern Payment Facilitator (PayFac) that empowers SaaS businesses to expand through embedded payments. This role involves identifying, investigating, and resolving risk-related issues tied to payment transactions, merchant activities, and chargeback processes. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of payment systems, fraud detection, and risk mitigation, working collaboratively across teams to protect the financial ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze payment transactions to identify suspicious or fraudulent activities.
- Investigate flagged transactions and escalate issues when necessary.
- Maintain detailed documentation of risk cases and resolution outcomes.
- Conduct risk assessments for both new and existing merchants.
- Monitor merchant behavior for signs of abuse, fraud, or policy violations.
- Collaborate with onboarding and compliance teams to implement effective risk controls.
- Recommend appropriate account actions based on risk findings.
- Review and respond to chargeback claims in accordance with card network regulations.
- Analyze chargeback trends to identify root causes and propose preventive measures.
- Coordinate with customer support, finance, and legal teams to resolve disputes.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting related to chargeback performance metrics.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in payments risk, fraud analysis, or chargeback management.
- Familiarity with payment platforms, card networks, and merchant services.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Experience with risk tools and data analysis platforms is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards such as PCI-DSS and AML.
- Experience in fast-paced fintech or e-commerce environments.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with AI tools to streamline workflows, enhance communication, or support decision-making.
