We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Officer specializing in U.S. payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees and contractors based in the United States. The ideal candidate will manage payroll operations while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role requires close collaboration with HR, Finance, and external payroll vendors to resolve discrepancies and address employee inquiries efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

- Process U.S. payroll accurately and within established deadlines to ensure timely payment.
- Verify payroll inputs including salaries, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and reimbursements.
- Manage payroll-related employee lifecycle events such as new hires, terminations, payroll changes, and final settlements.
- Process and reconcile federal, state, and local payroll taxes and deductions to maintain compliance.
- Assist with preparation and filing of payroll-related forms including W-2, 1099, W-4, and Form 941, as well as year-end payroll activities.
- Maintain accurate, confidential payroll records in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Reconcile payroll reports regularly and investigate any discrepancies to ensure data integrity.
- Respond promptly to employee payroll questions and coordinate with HR, Finance, and payroll vendors to resolve issues.
- Stay current with changes in U.S. payroll laws, regulations, and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
- 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience managing U.S. payroll operations.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. federal and state payroll regulations.
- Experience using payroll and HRIS systems such as ADP, Paychex, Gusto, QuickBooks, UKG, or similar platforms.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel with strong numerical, analytical, and reconciliation skills.
- High level of attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

- Certification such as Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is considered a plus.
