JOB PURPOSE
The incumbent will provide Analytical and Technical Support to operate Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP)& Environmental Lab.The incumbent will also support the Projects & Compliance Lead in rolling out and ensuring compliance with all global, PepsiCo, regulatory as well as plant specific policies, procedures, systems and programs, essentially covering Environmental Compliance& Waste Management.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
CONTEXT
The incumbent should be capable to operate WWTP independently and also perform required tests to maintain compliance against local & PepsiCo standards. The incumbent should also be capable to act as Site Subject Matter Expert for all aspects related to Environmental Compliance including but not limited to Air Emissions, Effluent Treatment, Waste Management and Spill Prevention &Control.
JOB BOUNDARIES
The position has to work within the company and local regulatory policies. Also, PepsiCo programs, procedures and requirements laid out are expected to be complied with while remaining within approved budgetary plans. The position has to work in coordination with all plant functions and PepsiCo Support Centre to ensure full implementation and complete compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, programs systems and reporting requirements.
The position has to consult with Projects & Compliance Lead regarding day-to-day decision making to ensure that only correct and quality decisions are made at all times.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Education: Graduate in Scientific Discipline (closely related field would be preferred)
Specialized training: NEBOSH Environmental Certification would be preferable.
Functional Expertise: A deep knowledge of Environmental systems, plant operation, Lab’s systems and processes. For example, effluent testing, calibrations, analytical methods, excellent analytical / numerical skills to identifying trends through proficient in use of MS Excel, SPC etc.
Productive Communication: Needs to be able to clearly explain requirements of environmental standards, and where they are not being met, emails communications, SOP/methods development skills.
