We are looking for a UK-qualified Solicitor based in Pakistan or a candidate holding a UK law degree with 1-2 years of relevant legal experience to support a UK-based, SRA-regulated law firm. The role focuses on reviewing, developing, and enhancing Personal Injury (PI) processes and procedures. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the PI team to create structured, efficient, and compliant workflows covering the entire PI matter lifecycle—from initial instruction through pre-litigation, litigation, and closure. This position requires a blend of UK legal knowledge, practical PI case management, legal drafting, regulatory compliance, and process improvement skills aimed at boosting consistency, compliance, profitability, and client service.

Key Responsibilities

- Review existing Personal Injury processes, templates, precedents, checklists, and case-management procedures to identify gaps and inefficiencies. Engage with fee earners and the PI team to improve consistency and operational efficiency.
- Map and document the complete PI workflow, including client onboarding, conflicts checks, case assessment, pre-action investigation, liability assessment, correspondence with defendants and insurers, medical evidence handling, Schedule of Loss, settlement negotiations, Pre-Action Protocols, litigation steps, court deadlines, and matter closure. Define responsibilities, actions, documentation, and key deadlines at each stage.
- Draft clear internal policies, procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), guidance notes, and comprehensive checklists covering pre-litigation and litigation requirements, limitation periods, compliance, and escalation points.
- Ensure PI processes comply with the SRA Standards and Regulations, relevant Civil Procedure Rules, Personal Injury Pre-Action Protocols, client-care obligations, confidentiality, data protection, and professional conduct standards. Identify compliance risks and recommend practical controls.
- Review and optimise the firm’s use of LEAP or other case-management systems for matter management, task allocation, diary control, document templates, key-date monitoring, automated reminders, workflow management, and reporting. Develop safeguards for limitation dates, court deadlines, medical appointments, expert evidence deadlines, and other time-sensitive actions.
- Evaluate the process for obtaining medical records and expert evidence, identify causes of delay, and develop follow-up procedures. Establish clear client communication protocols and templates to keep clients informed while reducing unnecessary delays and repeated correspondence.
- Develop a risk-management framework for PI matters, identifying operational, procedural, and regulatory risks with recommended mitigation measures. Create trackers, spreadsheets, and reporting tools for active cases, deadlines, case duration, medical evidence, settlement progress, litigation status, and outstanding actions.
- Collaborate with PI fee earners, management, and support staff to ensure processes meet departmental needs and standardise workflows, particularly the initial pre-litigation stage.

Required Qualifications

- UK-qualified Solicitor, preferably currently based in Pakistan; or
- Holder of an LLB, LLM, Graduate Diploma in Law, Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) qualification, or other recognised UK legal qualification/UK law degree with relevant practical legal experience.
- Candidates progressing through the SQE route with relevant UK legal experience will also be considered.

Required Experience and Skills

- 1-2 years of relevant professional legal experience, preferably within a UK law firm or legal-services organisation. Experience in Personal Injury, civil litigation, claims handling, or dispute resolution is highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of the UK legal system, PI/civil litigation procedures, Pre-Action Protocols, and litigation workflows.
- Knowledge of the SRA regulatory framework and professional obligations.
- Excellent legal research and drafting skills, including policies, SOPs, checklists, and process documentation.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to translate legal requirements into practical procedures.
- Good organisational and matter-management skills, with strong written and verbal communication in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel or Google Workspace; ability to work independently while coordinating with the legal team.
- Experience with LEAP or similar legal case-management software is preferred.

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is an early-career legal professional with UK legal qualifications and practical experience in Personal Injury or civil litigation. They should understand the workings of a UK law firm and be comfortable collaborating with lawyers to improve legal processes. The role suits someone proactive, commercially aware, organised, and capable of critically reviewing existing processes to produce clear, actionable recommendations.

Key Deliverables

- Documented end-to-end PI workflows and a comprehensive policies/procedures framework with SOPs.
- Pre-litigation and litigation checklists alongside a risk-assessment and compliance framework.
- Client communication procedures and templates.
- Case-tracking and management-reporting tools with recommendations for optimising LEAP.
- Key-date and diary-management procedures and safeguards.
- Procedures for managing medical evidence and improving case progression.
- Litigation-readiness procedures and other PI process documentation as required.

This role offers the opportunity to significantly enhance the efficiency, compliance, and profitability of Personal Injury matters within a respected UK law firm environment.
