Hasan Suleman Memorial Hospital (HSMH) is a 312-bed healthcare facility currently under development in Malir, Karachi, with an expected opening in December 2026. Committed to providing safe, high-quality, accessible, and patient-centered care, HSMH is seeking a dedicated and professional Phlebotomist cum Lab Receptionist. This role requires expertise in blood collection, patient registration, and supporting laboratory reception and administrative duties. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in specimen handling, patient interaction, and front-desk operations while maintaining strict adherence to safety, hygiene, confidentiality, and patient care standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform blood sample collection using appropriate venipuncture and approved specimen collection methods.
- Verify patient identity and ensure specimens are accurately labeled according to established protocols.
- Register patients, confirm their details, and provide clear guidance on laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures.
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, respond to routine inquiries, and deliver courteous assistance.
- Manage laboratory reception tasks, including patient registration, appointment scheduling, and maintaining records.
- Handle, store, and transport specimens properly to maintain sample integrity.
- Deliver specimens promptly to the designated laboratory sections for processing.
- Maintain precise records of specimen collection, patient registration, and reception activities.
- Follow infection prevention and control protocols, including hand hygiene and appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Safely manage and dispose of needles, sharps, and biomedical waste in line with hospital guidelines.
- Keep the phlebotomy and reception areas clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Coordinate effectively with laboratory staff, nursing teams, and other departments to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient service delivery.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with hospital policies, safety standards, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Medical Technology or a relevant Medical Laboratory Technology diploma from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in phlebotomy or clinical laboratory settings.
- Intermediate level of education is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Information
- Experience in hospital-based laboratory services, patient registration, and reception duties is preferred.
- This is a full-time, on-site position located at Plot #89, Deh Khanto, Taluka Ibrahim Hyderi, District Malir, Karachi.
- Candidates must be able to commute independently.
- Applicants will be required to provide information regarding their current or last gross salary, availability to join, and confirmation of diploma completion in Medical Technology.
