Aga Khan University Hospital is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join its Manager’s Office Laboratory team at the Main Aga Khan location in Pakistan. As part of one of the largest CAP-accredited laboratory networks globally, the successful candidate will contribute to delivering fast, accurate, and reliable laboratory testing services. The role involves working within a highly qualified team to ensure proper sample collection and handling, supporting routine and specialized testing that meets international standards. Key Responsibilities

- Verify each patient’s identity and review laboratory test requisition slips, confirming patient status through verbal questioning to ensure correct sample collection requirements are met.
- Perform precise and gentle vein puncture procedures to collect blood samples, transferring them into appropriate containers based on test specifications to maintain quality service standards.
- Label all patient sample containers prior to specimen collection following laboratory protocols to prevent specimen mix-ups.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including proper disposal of sharps in designated containers and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Clearly explain phlebotomy procedures to patients for both routine and special laboratory tests, ensuring correct sample collection using appropriate methods aligned with testing requirements.

Required Qualifications

- Matriculation is mandatory; Intermediate education is preferred.
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience, particularly in venipuncture on both adult and pediatric patients.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients and laboratory staff.
- Solid knowledge of phlebotomy procedures and familiarity with various sample collection containers.
- Good interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a team and provide patient-centered care.
- Willingness to work in shifts as per operational requirements.
