Platform Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Platform Engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience to join our team in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, integration, and operational management of an on-premises modern data platform. This role involves overseeing infrastructure setup, platform administration, security integration, and environment management across Development, QA, and Production stages. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in deploying enterprise data platforms within highly secured environments, strong troubleshooting skills, and a solid background in infrastructure management and operational support.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, configure, and administer various data platform components within an on-premises environment.
- Deploy and manage MinIO Object Storage and Apache Iceberg-based data lakehouse architectures.
- Install, configure, and optimize Starburst and/or Dremio platforms to enable data virtualization and efficient querying.
- Deploy, administer, and support Apache Spark clusters and related processing services.
- Install, configure, and manage Informatica components, ensuring seamless integration with the overall platform ecosystem.
- Configure and maintain Development, QA, and Production environments to meet operational standards.
- Integrate platform components with enterprise security services, including Identity & Access Management (IAM), Privileged Access Management (PAM), Active Directory/LDAP, Single Sign-On (SSO), and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
- Implement and support Git-based DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Manage monitoring, logging, backup, disaster recovery, and operational readiness processes to ensure platform reliability.
- Collaborate closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams to maintain platform stability, availability, and performance.
- Troubleshoot deployment, configuration, integration, and connectivity issues across the platform stack.

Required Qualifications

- Proven experience with MinIO administration.
- Strong knowledge of Apache Iceberg.
- Expertise in Starburst and/or Dremio platform administration.
- Hands-on experience managing Apache Spark clusters.
- Proficiency in Informatica administration.
- Solid Linux system administration skills.
- Experience working with VMware infrastructure.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and/or Kubernetes.
- Skilled in Git and CI/CD integration.
- Experience integrating IAM and PAM solutions.
- Strong infrastructure troubleshooting and operational support capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

- Understanding of data lakehouse architecture principles.
- Knowledge of enterprise security architecture.
- Experience with performance tuning and capacity planning.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.
- Experience in infrastructure automation using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Prior experience working in highly secured enterprise environments.
- Expertise in disaster recovery and backup strategy implementation.
