Platform Engineer

We are looking for a seasoned Platform Engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience to join our team in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the installation, configuration, integration, and operational management of a modern on-premises data platform. This position requires expertise in infrastructure setup, platform administration, security integration, and environment management across Development, QA, and Production stages. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in deploying enterprise data platforms within highly secure environments, combined with excellent troubleshooting and operational support skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, configure, and administer data platform components within an on-premises environment.
- Deploy and manage MinIO Object Storage and Apache Iceberg-based data lakehouse architectures.
- Install, configure, and optimize Starburst and/or Dremio platforms for data virtualization and querying.
- Deploy, administer, and support Apache Spark clusters and processing services.
- Install, configure, and manage Informatica components, ensuring seamless integration with the overall platform ecosystem.
- Configure and maintain Development, QA, and Production environments to ensure consistency and reliability.
- Integrate platform components with enterprise security services, including Identity & Access Management (IAM), Privileged Access Management (PAM), Active Directory/LDAP, Single Sign-On (SSO), and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
- Implement and support Git-based DevOps and CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes.
- Manage monitoring, logging, backup, disaster recovery, and operational readiness activities.
- Collaborate closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams to maintain platform stability, availability, and performance.
- Troubleshoot deployment, configuration, integration, and connectivity issues across the platform stack.

Required Qualifications

- Proven experience with MinIO administration.
- Strong knowledge of Apache Iceberg.
- Administration skills for Starburst and/or Dremio platforms.
- Expertise in Apache Spark cluster administration.
- Experience managing Informatica components.
- Proficient in Linux system administration.
- Familiarity with VMware infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and/or Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of Git and CI/CD integration.
- Experience integrating IAM and PAM solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and operational support experience in complex infrastructure environments.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Skills

- Understanding of data lakehouse architecture concepts.
- Knowledge of enterprise security architecture.
- Experience with performance tuning and capacity planning.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.
- Skills in infrastructure automation using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Prior experience working in highly secured enterprise environments.
- Expertise in disaster recovery planning and backup strategy implementation.
