Platform Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Platform Engineer to join our team in Saudi Arabia. This role involves supporting the installation, configuration, integration, and operational management of a modern on-premises data platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for infrastructure setup, platform administration, security integration, and ensuring platform reliability across Development, QA, and Production environments. Experience with deploying enterprise data platforms in secure environments, along with strong troubleshooting and operational support skills, is essential.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, configure, and administer data platform components within an on-premises environment.
- Deploy and manage MinIO Object Storage and Apache Iceberg-based data lakehouse architecture.
- Install, configure, and optimize Starburst and/or Dremio platforms for data virtualization and querying.
- Deploy, administer, and support Apache Spark clusters and processing services.
- Install, configure, and manage Informatica components, ensuring seamless integration with the platform ecosystem.
- Configure and maintain Development, QA, and Production environments.
- Integrate platform components with enterprise security services, including Identity & Access Management (IAM), Privileged Access Management (PAM), Active Directory/LDAP, Single Sign-On (SSO), and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
- Implement and support Git-based DevOps and CI/CD practices.
- Manage monitoring, logging, backup, disaster recovery, and operational readiness processes.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure platform stability, availability, and performance.
- Troubleshoot deployment, configuration, integration, and connectivity issues across the platform stack.

Required Qualifications

- Proven experience with MinIO administration.
- Strong knowledge of Apache Iceberg.
- Expertise in Starburst and/or Dremio platform administration.
- Experience managing Apache Spark clusters.
- Proficiency in Informatica administration.
- Solid Linux system administration skills.
- Experience working with VMware infrastructure.
- Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker and/or Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience with Git and CI/CD integration.
- Understanding of IAM and PAM integration within enterprise environments.
- Strong infrastructure troubleshooting and operational support capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

- Familiarity with data lakehouse architecture concepts.
- Knowledge of enterprise security architecture best practices.
- Skills in performance tuning and capacity planning.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
- Proficiency in infrastructure automation tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Previous experience working in highly secured enterprise environments.
- Expertise in disaster recovery and backup strategy implementation.
