The role involves managing and overseeing all plumbing repair and maintenance activities within the hospital premises. The incumbent will ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of various water systems, including tube wells, pumps, washroom fittings, hot water geysers, and fire pumping systems. The position requires proactive handling of submersible pumps during rainwater flooding or seepage incidents, as well as maintaining domestic water supply systems and septic tanks. Regular inspections of general washrooms and prompt replacement or repair of faulty fixtures are essential duties. Additionally, the role includes maintaining cleanliness in pump rooms, managing equipment, and addressing related complaints efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee all plumbing repair and maintenance tasks assigned by the department within the hospital.
- Manage the operation and maintenance of tube wells and associated pumps.
- Ensure timely repair and upkeep of washroom fittings, hot water geysers, and fire pumping systems.
- Operate submersible pumps during rainwater flooding and manage any seepage issues.
- Properly discard plumbing scrap materials through authorized channels.
- Maintain domestic water supply systems, including hot and cold water lines, and regularly check and service septic tank levels.
- Conduct daily inspections of all general washrooms, identifying and replacing any defective components.
- Keep pump rooms and related equipment clean and well-maintained.
- Handle complaints related to plumbing and maintenance promptly and effectively.

Required Qualifications

- Proven experience in plumbing maintenance and repair, preferably in a hospital or large facility setting.
- Knowledge of operation and maintenance of tube wells, pumps, and water supply systems.
- Familiarity with plumbing fixtures, hot water systems, and fire pumping equipment.
- Ability to perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond quickly during emergency situations such as flooding.
- Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in work areas.
