Power BI Developer

As a BI Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining data integration processes that ensure high data quality and consistency across the organization. You will be responsible for creating standardized reporting frameworks and enabling business teams to leverage self-service visualization tools for actionable insights. This position demands a combination of technical skills, analytical mindset, and the ability to communicate complex data stories effectively to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering:
Design and implement ELT workflows to consolidate data into a unified source of truth. Perform data cleansing and standardization to maintain data integrity and quality. Develop aggregations and calculations for key performance indicators (KPIs) to meet reporting requirements.

Data Modeling:
Create and maintain dimensional data models that facilitate efficient reporting and analytics. Standardize data structures to improve usability and accessibility for various teams.

Reporting and Visualization:
Develop descriptive reports and dashboards using BI tools that align with business goals. Empower end-users with self-service data visualization capabilities. Provide training and ongoing support to business teams on BI tools and related processes.

Business Analysis:
Collaborate with product, growth, and other departments to understand their data needs and deliver insightful analysis. Use storytelling techniques to communicate complex data insights clearly, aiding commercial, financial, and strategic decisions.

Quality Assurance:
Conduct thorough testing and validation of data processes to ensure accuracy and reliability. Manage the release process for BI solutions, ensuring smooth deployment with minimal disruption.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a BI Developer, Data Engineer, or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in data integration tools and ETL/ELT processes.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling concepts, including dimensional modeling.
- Experience working with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.
- Solid understanding of SQL and data manipulation techniques.
- Familiarity with quality assurance methodologies and testing frameworks.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present compelling data stories.
