Power Transformer Electrical Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer specializing in power transformers rated up to 50 MVA, 132 kV class. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing detailed electrical designs that meet customer specifications and industry standards. This role requires close collaboration with multiple departments to ensure the seamless delivery of high-quality transformer products.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare electrical designs and bills of materials in strict accordance with customer requirements and technical specifications.
- Develop and submit comprehensive technical submittals for customer approval.
- Review manufacturing and fabrication drawings thoroughly to ensure compliance with customer and industry standards.
- Coordinate effectively with Sales, Purchasing, Production, and Quality Assurance teams, as well as suppliers and customers, to facilitate smooth project execution.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in power transformer design within a transformer manufacturing environment.
- Proven expertise in designing power transformers according to IEC and ANSI standards.
- Hands-on experience with various transformer winding techniques such as foil winding, continuously transposed conductors (CTC), and disc winding.
- Familiarity with hermetically sealed and conservator-type transformers, including on-load tap changers.
- Proficient in transformer design software such as FoxPro, DestDT, iTRACS, or equivalent, along with strong skills in Microsoft Windows.
- Solid understanding of comprehensive transformer calculations, including short-circuit, loading, cooling, and impulse calculations.
- Strong communication and supervisory abilities to lead and coordinate design activities effectively.
