We are seeking a highly experienced Hydraulic Engineer to lead the development and calibration of advanced hydraulic models for diverse water resources projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in 1D and 2D hydraulic modeling, flood routing, sediment transport, and river morphology. This role involves working on complex systems such as rivers, canals, reservoirs, spillways, and floodplains, supporting multidisciplinary teams through all project phases from feasibility to construction.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the creation and calibration of 1D and 2D hydraulic models for various water bodies including rivers, canals, reservoirs, spillways, and floodplains. Conduct flood routing and inundation mapping to assess flood risks and support mitigation strategies. Perform sediment transport and river morphology studies to understand and predict changes in watercourses.

Carry out detailed hydraulic analyses for irrigation systems, water conveyance infrastructure, and flood protection works to ensure optimal design and functionality. Review hydrological data inputs and integrate these with hydraulic modeling outputs to provide comprehensive project insights.

Prepare clear and thorough technical reports, design criteria, and documentation related to hydraulic modeling activities. Provide expert technical guidance to multidisciplinary engineering teams, ensuring alignment with project goals and engineering best practices.

Support feasibility studies, detailed engineering designs, and provide technical services during construction phases to ensure successful project delivery. Coordinate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to address hydraulic engineering issues and ensure compliance with all relevant standards.

Ensure all work complies with international engineering standards and meets specific project requirements, maintaining high-quality outputs throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Hydraulic Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or Civil Engineering from a recognized university is essential. Candidates must have a minimum of 15 to 20 years of relevant professional experience in hydraulic modeling and water resources projects.

Demonstrated experience working on major projects related to irrigation, river engineering, dams, hydropower, flood management, or water infrastructure is required. Strong knowledge of hydraulic principles, flood risk assessment, and water resources planning is critical.

Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage project deliverables effectively, ensuring timely and quality completion of tasks.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

While not explicitly stated, candidates with experience in coordinating with regulatory bodies and multidisciplinary teams will be highly valued. The role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact projects that contribute to sustainable water resource management and infrastructure development.

This position is ideal for a seasoned professional seeking to apply their expertise in hydraulic engineering within a collaborative and challenging environment.
