Data Engineer

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Data Engineer at Prima Systems in Islamabad / Lahore. The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data infrastructure, including data modeling, Extract Transform Load (ETL), Data Warehousing, and Data Analytics. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for data quality and improvement.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement scalable and efficient data architectures, including data warehousing, data lakes, and databases, with a strong focus on optimizing data operations in the cloud environment.
Develop and maintain ETL processes to extract data from various sources, transform it into a usable format, and load it into data storage systems, emphasizing the cloud-based ETL tools and services.
Create and manage data pipelines to automate the flow of data from source systems to data storage and downstream applications, using cloud-based pipeline services.
Design and implement data models that meet the requirements of data scientists and analysts, ensuring data is structured and organized effectively for analysis, including the creation of DAX measures for business intelligence tools.
Establish data quality standards and processes to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency, with a focus on cloud-based data quality and validation tools.
Continuously monitor and optimize data pipelines and infrastructure for performance, scalability, and reliability, leveraging cloud technologies for performance improvements.
Implement and maintain data security measures, ensuring compliance with relevant data protection regulations and company policies in cloud environments.
Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, Scala, or others for data processing, with a strong emphasis on Python for data manipulation and scripting.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and software engineers, to understand data requirements and provide data solutions, with a strong emphasis on cloud-based collaboration and integration.
Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of data infrastructure, ETL processes, data models, and cloud configurations.
Identify and resolve data-related issues, such as data pipeline failures, performance bottlenecks, and data quality problems, particularly in a cloud environment.

Qualification & Requirements:

3-5 years of proven experience in data engineering with extensive experience in writing complex queries, building DAX measures for business intelligence, and optimizing data operations in the cloud.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Understanding of data privacy and security practices.
Data Engineering skills, including experience with ETL tools, SQL, and scripting languages.
Data Warehousing experience, particularly with Cloud-based solutions (Azure data factory).
Data Modeling expertise
Data Analytics experience, including data visualization tools and techniques
Experience working with distributed systems and in Big Data environments
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
