Principal Software Engineer

We are currently seeking an experienced Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable cloud-based web applications.

Key Responsibilities
Design and develop services and applications supporting Solera’s diverse product portfolio. Lead engineering efforts with a strong emphasis on microservices architecture and cloud-native application development. Collaborate closely with front-end, data, product, QA, operations, and other technical teams to plan, design, test, and release software solutions. Mentor and guide engineers on technologies, design patterns, and best practices, setting a strong example within the team. Diagnose and resolve performance, scalability, and cross-platform stability issues. Conduct design and code reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables. Prototype and advocate for the adoption of new technologies within the platform. Represent Solera’s technical capabilities and strategies effectively to internal teams, external partners, and customers.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Over 12 years of development and technical leadership experience. At least 10 years of hands-on experience with Node.js, C#, and microservice technologies. Strong background in interfacing with SQL and NoSQL data access layers, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience. Proven expertise in modern software development practices across multiple languages and environments. Recent practical experience (1–3 years) with Generative AI technologies, including large language model (LLM) integration, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), multi-chain processing (MCP), agentic AI, orchestration frameworks, and inference optimization. Experience managing platform transitions and addressing challenges in complex legacy software systems. Skilled API designer with a history of effective collaboration across front-end, data engineering, quality assurance, and operations teams. Strong team player with a growth mindset, open to learning and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Skills
Broad full-stack development experience spanning front-end, backend services, and data layers. Expertise in designing, planning, and implementing backend services, microservices, and APIs. Proficiency with C#, ASP.NET, TypeScript/JavaScript, and Node.js. Experience leading agile teams and utilizing source control management, continuous integration/deployment, and automated build/test/profiling tools such as Git, Jenkins, NPM, and Spinnaker. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and container orchestration technologies including AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and web servers like Nginx or Apache. Demonstrated ability to develop reusable frameworks leveraged by other developers. Experience building Generative AI-powered applications using foundation models, RAG pipelines, and agent-based architectures is highly desirable.
