Principal Software Engineer

We are looking for a highly experienced software professional with at least nine years of industry experience and a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. The ideal candidate will be recognized as a subject matter expert across multiple teams and possess strong problem-solving abilities to tackle complex technical challenges. This role requires working within a Lean Software Development framework to analyze business requirements, contribute to architectural initiatives, and lead development efforts with a hands-on approach. The position is fully on-site at the Islamabad GPO location, with working hours from 3 PM to 11 PM.

Key Responsibilities
Collaborate effectively within a Lean Software Development environment to analyze business requirements, identify user stories, estimate delivery timelines, and participate in testing deliverables as part of a feature team. Contribute to architectural initiatives and support the ongoing technological evolution of the platform. Serve as a technical lead by guiding and developing application architecture while leading a team of developers during the design and implementation of new features or enhancements to existing capabilities. Maintain an active, hands-on role in coding, utilizing object-oriented design principles and programming languages such as Java and C#. Demonstrate a deep understanding of software design principles through practical coding and mentor junior team members to promote best practices. Adhere strictly to internal coding standards, unit testing, source control, and continuous integration policies. Proactively maintain and share knowledge of software development best practices, including design patterns, third-party tools, and language features that benefit the organization. Collaborate closely with team members and stakeholders to deliver accurate work estimates for assigned tasks and ensure timely delivery.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline. Minimum of nine years of professional experience in software development. Recognized subject matter expert status across multiple groups or teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills capable of addressing highly complex and often undefined technical challenges. Extensive experience in scoping, designing, and implementing software solutions with a high level of technical competence, including cross-disciplinary knowledge. Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages, specifically Java and C#. Experience working within Lean Software Development frameworks. Ability to make complex decisions that extend beyond direct areas of responsibility. Willingness and ability to reliably commute or relocate to the Islamabad GPO location prior to starting work. Availability to work on-site during the specified 3 PM to 11 PM shift.
