Principal Software Engineer

We are seeking an experienced software development professional with a strong technical background and leadership capabilities to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of nine years of experience and hold a Bachelor’s degree. Recognized as a subject matter expert across multiple groups, this individual will play a pivotal role in driving architectural initiatives and guiding the evolution of our platform within a Lean Software Development framework.

Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate within a Lean Software Development environment to analyze business requirements, define user stories, test deliverables, and estimate delivery timelines as part of a feature team.
- Contribute to and influence the architectural design and technological advancement of the platform.
- Provide technical leadership to a team of developers during the design, development, and enhancement of new and existing features and applications.
- Maintain an active, hands-on role in coding and implementation using object-oriented design principles and languages such as Java and C#.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of software design principles and mentor junior team members to elevate their technical skills.
- Adhere to internal coding standards, unit testing protocols, source control procedures, and continuous integration practices.
- Proactively stay informed and share knowledge on best practices in software development, including design patterns, third-party tools, and language features that could benefit the organization.
- Lead the team in delivering accurate work estimates and collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of nine years of professional experience.
- Proven recognition as a subject matter expert within previous roles or organizations.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify, prevent, and resolve complex technical issues that are often undefined or unique, requiring broad-based consideration of multiple variables.
- Demonstrated ability to apply high-level technical competence and cross-disciplinary knowledge to make complex decisions beyond direct responsibilities.
- Experience working within Lean Software Development frameworks and familiarity with architectural design and development processes.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages, specifically Java and C#.
- Ability and willingness to work on-site in Islamabad, including a commitment to a 3pm-11pm shift schedule.
- Reliable commute or plans to relocate to Islamabad prior to starting employment.

Location and Work Environment

This position requires in-person work at the Islamabad GPO location. Candidates must be willing and able to commute or relocate accordingly.
