Principal/Staff Software Consultant - Java + AWS

10Pearls is currently seeking an experienced Java Developer with strong expertise in Java frameworks (Spring Boot and Micronaut), AWS cloud services, MySQL, and Oracle databases. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing scalable backend services and APIs that prioritize performance, security, and maintainability. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to the delivery of efficient, high-performing software solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Support and coordinate both technical and business aspects of software development, including requirement analysis, design, and implementation.
- Serve as a principal developer within project teams, providing expert guidance on business and technical matters.
- Take on additional responsibilities to foster team cohesion and collaboration.
- Act as a primary point of contact for technical issues across multiple projects and work streams.
- Proactively plan and strategize with the team by identifying potential challenges and proposing effective alternatives.
- Mentor technical staff, assist in resolving complex technical problems, and lead efforts to overcome development obstacles.
- Participate in recruiting efforts to attract and retain top technical talent for the team.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience focused on backend application development.
- Strong proficiency in Java, specifically with Spring Boot and Micronaut frameworks.
- Extensive experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, API Gateway, ECS, and CloudFormation.
- Proficient in working with relational databases including MySQL and Oracle, along with ORM technologies like Hibernate and JPA2.
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Splunk, Datadog, and Mixpanel.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, security best practices, and automated testing methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills paired with a consulting mindset.
- Proven experience mentoring engineers and contributing positively to team growth and development.
