We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer to lead process design activities from initial engineering stages through detailed design and construction support. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and reviewing critical process documentation, conducting simulations, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This position requires close coordination with multiple engineering disciplines and active involvement in commissioning and troubleshooting to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead process design activities, covering basic engineering, detailed engineering, and construction support phases.
- Develop and review Process Design Basis documents, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Heat and Material Balances, and Process Datasheets.
- Perform and review process simulations, hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, and utility calculations using relevant software tools.
- Review the sizing and selection of key process equipment such as vessels, columns, pumps, compressors, and heat exchangers.
- Lead process safety studies including HAZOP (Hazard and Operability), HAZID (Hazard Identification), SIL (Safety Integrity Level) assessments, and relief/depressurization reviews.
- Review relief valve sizing, flare load calculations, and process safeguarding requirements to ensure safety and compliance.
- Prepare and review process specifications, equipment datasheets, and technical requisitions for procurement and construction.
- Coordinate process interfaces with Mechanical, Piping, Instrumentation, Electrical, Civil, and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) disciplines to ensure seamless project integration.
- Review vendor documents and resolve any process-related technical queries to maintain project quality and timelines.
- Support commissioning, start-up, performance testing, and troubleshooting activities to ensure smooth project handover and operation.
- Ensure all designs and activities comply with project specifications, applicable codes, and international engineering standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- 10 to 15 years of hands-on experience in Process Engineering and Process Design.
- Proven expertise in Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, and EPC/EPCC projects.
- Strong proficiency in process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, or equivalent tools.
- Solid understanding of industry codes and standards including API, ASME, NFPA, and other relevant international standards.
- Experience working with refinery process units, utilities, and offsite facilities is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a process engineering team on major projects is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Candidates with prior leadership experience managing process engineering teams on large-scale projects will be given preference. The role offers a competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs250,000 to Rs350,000. This is an in-person position, requiring the candidate to work onsite to facilitate effective collaboration and project execution.
