Production Manager – OSBL

We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Production Manager – OSBL to oversee operations at Safco Ventures, a pioneering sustainable aviation fuel production facility that converts used cooking oil into renewable aviation fuel. This role involves leading operations across Degumming/Hydrogen, Tank Farm, ETP, SWS, Flare, and Gantry facilities. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring safe, reliable, and environmentally responsible operations from system handover, commissioning, and start-up through ramp-up to stable production, while maintaining high standards of operational excellence, process safety, environmental compliance, and asset integrity.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead OSBL production teams, providing strong field and shift leadership to ensure smooth operations.
- Manage operational readiness, commissioning, start-up, shutdown, and stable operation phases effectively.
- Coordinate closely with Production, Projects, Process Engineering, Maintenance, HSE, Process Safety, Quality, Logistics, and other support functions.
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of hydrogen, degumming, tank farm, ETP/SWS, flare, and gantry facilities.
- Maintain production plans, control inventory, and manage feed/hydrogen availability along with product transfer activities.
- Drive operational efficiency by optimizing resources and minimizing losses.
- Oversee maintenance activities, inspections, isolations, shutdowns, and turnaround schedules.
- Ensure strict compliance with PTW, LOTO/isolation, MOC, PSSR, emergency procedures, and other process safety requirements.
- Lead incident investigations, conduct risk reviews, organize emergency drills, and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor and report on production metrics, inventory levels, hydrogen supply, ETP/SWS performance, flaring, emissions, losses, and key operational KPIs.
- Develop operator competencies by coordinating technical, OEM, and licensor training programs.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement and reliability initiatives approved by management.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in refinery, petrochemical, renewable fuels, or comparable continuous-process operations.
- At least 5 years of shift or area leadership experience, or equivalent operating responsibility.
- Proven expertise in commissioning, start-up, shutdown, field operations, troubleshooting, and managing production interfaces.
- Practical knowledge of hydrogen systems, feed pretreatment/degumming, tank farm operations, loading, ETP/SWS, and flare systems is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with PSSR, MOC, PHA, PTW/isolation, safety-critical systems, spill prevention, effluent control, and emergency response protocols.
