Professor – Computer Science

Northern University Nowshera is seeking a dedicated and experienced Professor of Computer Science to join its academic team. The successful candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality teaching and research while providing leadership within the department. This role involves instructing undergraduate and graduate students, supervising research projects, mentoring junior faculty, and actively engaging in curriculum development and accreditation processes aligned with Higher Education Commission (HEC) standards. The professor will also play a key role in advancing the department’s research profile and contributing to institutional initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and comprehensive lectures in Computer Science and related areas to BS and MS students. Lead and supervise research activities, including guiding theses and supporting academic publications. Develop, review, and update curriculum, lesson plans, and assessment methods to ensure alignment with HEC requirements. Mentor Lecturers and Assistant Professors to promote their academic and professional growth. Ensure strict compliance with HEC accreditation standards and maintain departmental quality benchmarks. Participate actively in academic planning, departmental meetings, and quality assurance processes. Lead research initiatives, including preparing grant applications and presenting findings at conferences. Manage examination procedures, results compilation, and academic record maintenance. Provide academic counseling and pastoral support to students. Represent the department in various institutional and inter-departmental committees.

Required Qualifications
A PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field from an HEC-recognized institution is essential. Candidates should have between three to five years of post-PhD teaching and research experience in accordance with HEC criteria. A strong publication record demonstrating research excellence is required. The candidate must possess a thorough understanding of core Computer Science subjects and emerging technologies. Proven experience in academic leadership and research supervision is necessary. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are critical. Familiarity with HEC accreditation standards and quality assurance procedures is expected. The ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary academic environment is important. Proficiency in MS Office and academic technologies is required.
