Programmer Analyst, Paediatrics & Child Health -MC

Aga Khan University, a distinguished private international institution established in 1983, is seeking a Programmer Analyst to join the Department of Paediatrics & Child Health within the Women and Child Health Division. This role centers on utilizing data analytics, data science, automation, and visualization techniques to enhance research and operational processes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting evidence-based decision-making by managing complex datasets, developing machine learning models, and designing insightful dashboards. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the development team to meet project deadlines under the guidance of the Team Lead or Manager.
- Independently acquire and apply new tools to deliver effective solutions aligned with project goals.
- Actively participate in an agile team environment using advanced technologies.
- Gain a thorough understanding of existing processes to promote automation and digitization.
- Collect, preprocess, manipulate, and analyze complex, high-volume, and high-dimensional data from multiple sources.
- Present findings through advanced analysis and visualization tools.
- Prototype experimental solutions, including machine learning models, to address research challenges.
- Support data extraction, management, wrangling, analysis, and interpretation of diverse datasets.
- Develop reliable dashboards that provide meaningful insights and visualizations.
- Apply sound knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- At least two years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong programming and logical reasoning skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with experience conveying insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages; familiarity with Java, Android, R, STATA, Python, Power BI, or VS Code is advantageous.
- Solid understanding of machine learning model development, including clustering, classification, regression, optimization, recommendation systems, and natural language processing.
- Knowledge of data and analytical frameworks specific to the healthcare sector.
- Competence in data collection, management, analysis, and interpretation.
- Ability to articulate research questions, formulate hypotheses, and synthesize existing literature.
- Capacity to work effectively with colleagues at all organizational levels.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Information
- Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Warehouse (DWH) systems is considered an advantage.
- This is a contractual, close-ended position based in Pakistan.
