The Project Coordinator / Desk Officer acts as the vital operational link between the READ Foundation Head Office and its donor-funded education project located in Nok Kundi, District Chagai. This role is responsible for ensuring seamless coordination, timely communication, and effective monitoring of scholarship holders. It also supports teacher training initiatives, engages with stakeholders, and facilitates the smooth execution of project activities while adhering to organizational policies and safeguarding standards. The position requires regular travel to Quetta and occasional visits to Nok Kundi to provide on-ground project support.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate communication and follow-up activities between the Head Office and field teams to ensure alignment and timely information flow.
- Track and manage approvals, procurement requests, HR-related actions, and other operational tasks to maintain project efficiency.
- Assist in planning and organizing logistics for meetings, training sessions, and field visits.
- Monitor the academic progress and overall wellbeing of scholarship holders based in Quetta, ensuring their needs are addressed.
- Prepare detailed monitoring reports, field visit summaries, and monthly coordination updates to keep all stakeholders informed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic and physical records related to project activities.
- Support teacher training programs, refresher courses, and other capacity-building initiatives to enhance educational outcomes.
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with schools, local communities, and other key stakeholders to foster collaboration.
- Represent READ Foundation professionally in both internal and external meetings, maintaining the organization’s reputation.
- Ensure strict compliance with safeguarding, security, and organizational policies to protect all project participants.
- Identify operational challenges and promptly escalate issues to the Project Director for resolution.
- Undertake regular travel to Quetta and occasional trips to Nok Kundi to provide direct project support and supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- A Master’s degree is considered an added advantage.
- Minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience in project coordination, preferably within education or development sectors.
- Proven experience in coordinating between Head Office and field operations.
- Strong documentation, reporting, and data management skills.
- Experience in supporting teacher training or capacity-building activities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Urdu.
- Ability to effectively engage with schools, communities, government bodies, and internal teams.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently to Quetta and occasionally to Nok Kundi.
