Project Director

GE Vernova Hydro Power is seeking a Project Director to lead the successful delivery of large-scale projects while ensuring profitability and high customer satisfaction. This role involves full accountability for project financial results and key performance indicators, managing project-related activities and resources, and maintaining strong relationships with both internal teams and external customers. The Project Director will oversee multiple projects within the cluster, guiding Project Managers on priorities, performance, and development, and acting as the primary escalation point for customer concerns. This position requires autonomy within the operational area and demands strong evaluative judgment and operational expertise to meet business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee projects and provide direct or indirect leadership for project resources on small to medium-sized projects, which may include equipment-only, product suites, or turnkey solutions.
- Serve as a second-line manager with senior and lead professionals reporting directly. Attract and retain talent while managing small teams and developing functional expertise. Provide professional or thought leadership and influence policy to ensure delivery within the area of responsibility.
- Analyze internal and external business challenges, recommending best practices to improve products, processes, or services by leveraging industry trends.
- Lead teams to develop creative solutions for complex manufacturing processes involving technical variety and interdependent production cycles. Utilize advanced operational, product management, manufacturing, or engineering techniques and collaborate with adjacent functions to resolve issues. Critically evaluate information quality and resolve conflicting data using multiple internal and external resources.
- Lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and complexity. Present business or technical solutions to leadership, communicate complex messages clearly, and negotiate internally to influence decisions. Engage with external partners, vendors, or customers as needed.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and/or Business Management from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience focused on Project Management and/or International Project Execution.
- Proven experience in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction), Energy, or Manufacturing industries.
- Strong commitment to Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards and compliance.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and database operations.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically (including sites in Pakistan) and internationally within the region, with travel expected around 30%.
- Fluent in English.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Information
- Master’s Degree, preferably an MBA, is highly desirable.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with strong advocacy for customer satisfaction.
- Solid commercial, contract, and financial acumen.
- Professional experience in Hydro or Power Generation sectors is a significant advantage.
- Ability to build and maintain strong local and regional customer relationships.
- Additional language skills are a plus.
- Experience working within matrix, cross-functional, and global team environments.
- Highly self-driven and motivated individual.
