Project Engineer

We are seeking motivated engineers to join our client’s dynamic team based in Karachi. The team focuses on developing and delivering advanced software solutions for collecting, storing, processing, and presenting industrial plant data, spanning from edge devices to cloud platforms. Their primary sectors include renewable energy—covering solar, wind, hydropower, and battery storage—as well as the oil and gas industry. The Karachi team collaborates closely with colleagues in Norway, so candidates should be self-driven, capable of leading initiatives, and comfortable working within a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Configure and deploy SCADA solutions tailored to project requirements, including parameter setup, tag mapping, and basic customization to ensure seamless integration with field devices and systems.
- Conduct comprehensive internal testing to validate system functionality, followed by external testing alongside clients to confirm compliance with project specifications and expectations.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, product development, and other internal teams to ensure successful project delivery and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Develop and implement procedures to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues within the system, ensuring reliable and continuous operation.
- Provide training to customers on SCADA systems and deliver ongoing technical support as needed.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- 2 to 4 years of relevant professional experience.
- Proficiency in both oral and written English.
- Comfortable engaging directly with customers and managing client relationships.

Preferred Qualifications and Relevant Experience
- Experience in hybrid energy systems, including Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Hydropower, and Wind Energy.
- Familiarity with oil and gas industry standards and processes across upstream, midstream, and downstream operations, including control systems, safety protocols, and process workflows.
- Hands-on experience with SCADA platforms such as Wonderware, WinCC, Ignition, and GE iFIX, with demonstrated ability to configure, deploy, and support these systems in diverse industrial settings.
- Proficient in industrial communication protocols including Modbus (RTU, TCP/IP), OPC (UA, DA), and IEC 61850.
- Skilled in algorithm development and logical problem-solving using programming languages such as C#, Python, or equivalents.
- Experience working with databases like MS SQL and PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of Windows management tools and services, as well as the .NET Framework development environment for managing and deploying industrial applications.
- Competent in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and collaboration tools such as OneDrive and Teams.
- Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, and Lens for Kubernetes cluster management.
