Project Engineer (Mech)

MEP Solutions Pvt. Ltd., a reputable contracting firm specializing in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works and affiliated with Izhar Construction Company Pvt. Ltd., is seeking a dedicated full-time Project Engineer (Mechanical) to join the team on-site at the Lady Wellington Project in Lahore. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing mechanical engineering aspects, ensuring quality, compliance, and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Act as the responsible Mechanical Engineer and report directly to the Project Manager (PM).
- Provide technical advice to the PM regarding any mechanical services issues that could impact construction progress or quality.
- Continuously monitor and review the construction schedule during site activities to ensure timely progress.
- Review mechanical shop drawings against tender/design drawings for compliance, providing comments or approvals to the PM.
- Coordinate mechanical shop drawing reviews with structural and electrical engineers to ensure engineering integration and report findings to the PM.
- Assess contractor’s mechanical materials proposals against technical specifications and advise the PM on their suitability.
- Evaluate proposed subcontractors for mechanical works from a technical perspective.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify contractor adherence to approved drawings, consultant specifications, construction schedules, and health and safety standards.
- Be available for off-site inspections of equipment and materials as required by the PM.
- Review and approve proposed mechanical system testing and commissioning methods and schedules prior to execution.
- Witness on-site tests such as piped system pressure tests, air conditioning duct leakage tests, and other relevant first-fix works, advising the PM accordingly.
- Perform spot checks during final mechanical system testing and commissioning phases.
- Analyze testing and commissioning results and provide feedback to the PM.
- Maintain an ongoing list of mechanical service defects requiring remedial action.
- Conduct final project snagging inspections and prepare defect lists for contractor resolution.
- Attend project meetings, site progress meetings, and technical discussions related to mechanical services as directed by the PM.
- Draft site or engineer’s instructions related to mechanical services and issue them through the PM.
- Advise the PM on mechanical services-related variation costs claimed by the contractor during the project.
- Possess firefighting experience and the ability to work independently in this area.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering within construction or contracting environments.

Job Details

- Employment Type: Full-time, on-site position.
- Location: Lahore, Lady Wellington Project.
- Monthly Salary Range: Rs. 110,000 to Rs. 120,000.
