We are seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to oversee and coordinate a multidisciplinary team comprising mechanical design engineers, embedded design engineers, and workshop staff. This full-time, on-site role based in Johar Town, Lahore, involves managing the entire product development cycle—from initial planning and prototyping to testing and production handover. The position emphasizes people and process management, including organizing the team, tracking progress, managing schedules and resources, and ensuring projects move forward efficiently. While a background in engineering design is beneficial, it is not a strict requirement for this role.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and manage multiple engineering and workshop projects from kickoff through to successful delivery.
- Lead and coordinate a diverse team including mechanical and electrical design engineers, as well as workshop personnel specializing in fabrication, welding, fiberglass, woodworking, and assembly.
- Allocate tasks based on project priorities, team capacity, and deadlines, while monitoring progress against established milestones.
- Conduct regular project and status reviews, identify and remove blockers, and hold the team accountable for deliverables, quality standards, and timelines.
- Organize daily and weekly workshop activities aligned with project priorities and resource availability.
- Collaborate with procurement teams on RFQs, purchase requirements, vendor follow-ups, and proactively flag long lead items.
- Track material requirements, prototype development progress, and overall workshop productivity.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, schedules, and status records, ensuring adherence to documentation and change control processes.
- Provide regular progress reports to management, highlighting risks, resource needs, and potential delays.
- Coordinate schedules and deliverables with procurement, production, and other engineering teams, escalating issues that could impact cost, quality, or delivery timelines.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing teams of engineers and workshop staff.
- Demonstrated success in leading multidisciplinary or technical teams through project delivery.
- Comfortable working alongside mechanical and electrical design engineers and workshop trades such as fabrication, welding, and assembly without directly performing design tasks.

Leadership and Professional Competencies

- Strong skills in task delegation, coaching, and team management.
- Excellent abilities in project planning, prioritization, risk management, and meeting deadlines.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, with proven experience in cross-functional coordination.
- High level of ownership and accountability for team output, schedules, and delivery.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced research and development (R&D) and prototyping environment.

Work Location

This is an in-person role based at the company’s facility in Johar Town, Lahore. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM, with alternate Saturdays required.

This position offers the opportunity to lead a dynamic engineering and workshop team within a challenging and innovative environment, contributing directly to the successful development and delivery of cutting-edge products.
